Pioneer of Microwave Crispy Bacon Joins DanTech

Henrik Jeppesen AKA "Jeppe" a well known and respected figure in the meat industry recently joined DanTech UK Ltd as Director with special responsibility to help expand the latest development in microwave booster heating.

Jeppe brings many years of practical experience in the meat industry gained from his long service with Tulip both in Denmark and UK and gives an added boost to expand the business within the UK and Scandinavia.

Jeppe has a long experience of using the microwave technology in the food industry. He developed the now famous and well known Crispy Cooked Streaky Bacon using microwaves technology, a totally new product which only can be produced on microwave lines. Crispy Cooked Bacon is today sold in most major supermarkets. The product is ideal for sandwiches and salads.

Microwave technology has changed a lot the last 10 years, and microwave lines are to day a lot easier to operate, control and service. Reliability has been improved through developments in solid state systems for control and PLC allows on-line monitoring and fault finding the lines adds up to more energy efficient systems. Personnel and fire safety systems too have improved, but microwave technology are to day also widely used in new areas of the food processing chain such as pre-cooking, booster heating and post pasteurizing. And no doubt new areas will be developed in the future.
